Why do I need a Project Design & Development agreement?
Why Should You Enter a Design and Development Agreement with a Contractor?
When embarking on a landscape design-build project, a question often arises: Why should we pay for a design when we have several other contractors offering to do one for free?
The Value of our Design and Development Agreement
Our Design and Development Agreement aims to provide a professionally developed landscape design. We invest the time to genuinely understand your property, style preferences, and functional needs. Our thorough process results in more accurate budgeting and material selection, which can save money and avoid expensive mistakes or changes mid-project. When you invest in our comprehensive process you achieve a beautiful, functional, and enduring outdoor space—tailored to your unique goals
Here’s how it works: clients pay a planning fee, proportional to the project’s estimated budget. This fee isn’t an added expense—it’s applied toward the final project cost.
With this agreement, you gain more than just a number. You’re securing a thoughtful and well-defined process tailored to your specific needs.
What’s Included in our Design and Development Agreement?
Our well-structured agreement ensures every detail is addressed before construction begins. Key elements include:
-
Comprehensive Needs Analysis: We dive deep into understanding your vision and how the project will seamlessly integrate with your home.
-
Precise Site Measurements and Photos: Capturing every detail ensures accuracy.
-
Collaboration with Experts: Meeting with tradesmen and vendors ensures feasibility and precision.
-
Preliminary Plans and Conceptual Drawings: Visualizing your ideas early in the process.
-
Material Allowances: Allocating budgets for items like flagstone, cabinetry, countertops, fixtures, and lighting.
-
Detailed Renderings: We bring your vision to life through 3D models.
-
Architectural Coordination: Managing required stamps from architects or structural engineers.
The final step is presenting a Construction Agreement that outlines every detail—work descriptions, material allowances, payment schedules, start and completion dates, and more. This ensures total transparency, leaving no room for surprises.
Why This Agreement Matters
